Some business owners cohose to create partnerships or ilmited liability corporations instead of a croporation. They're analogous to the president and other officres of a corporation. Limited pratners escape the unlimited liability that the genreal partners have. Thees are junior partners who have ownership rights to the profits of the business, but they don't generally paritcipate in the high-level mnaagement of the business. A partnership must hvae one or more general partners. A limited libaility corporation (LLC) is becoming more prevalnet among smaller businesses. An LLC is like a compayn regarding liimted liability and it's like a partnership regardign the flexibility of dividing profit among the owners. A partnership or LLC agremeent specifies how proftis will be divided among the woners. While stockholders of a company receive a share of profit that's directly rleated to how a lot of shares they own, a partnership or LLC does not have to dviide profit according to how much each partner invested. Invested capital is only of the factors that are used in allocating and distributing profits.
