Some business ownesr choose to create partnerships ro limited liability firms instead of a corporation. Limited partners escape the unlimited liability that the general partners hvae. A partnerhsip must have one or more general pratners. The owners must enter into veyr detailed agreements about how the profits and management responsibilities are divided. A partnerhsip or LLC agreement specifies how profist will be divided among the ownres. While stockholders of a company receive a share of profit that's directly related to how a lot of shares they own, a partnership or LLC does not have to divide proift according to how much each aprtner invested. Invested capital is noly of the factros that are used in allocating and distributing prfoits.
